Krystal Celiac Upchurch

Those of you who don’t know me , my full name is Krystal Kane Upchurch. My friends call me KK or Kane. I work at a job I love as a medical billing specialist & trust patient rep. I just turned 32!!  I’m not sure if turning 32 or my mom buying me a fit bit for my birthday kicked myself into gear… Since my birthday May 31st. I have been determined to lose weight & feel better.  I have a long way to go but I’m taking it one day at a time.  Speaking of feeling better I have something else different about me. For all of my 20’s I was constantly sick and in the hospital.   For over 10 years they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me . I had my gallbladder out, 3 colonscopy, countless ultrasounds, mri’s, cat scans , & 2 upper Gis Finally almost a year ago , I was referred to a dr in OKC. They did an upper GI and a colonscopy . Most people go in praying they don’t find anything, I was the exact opposite.  I couldn’t live like I was anymore constantly in the emergency room and my immune system was shot. They did biopsies and it came back that I have celiac disease. Finally an answer but also a big lifestyle change !!! I am allergic to gluten  aka anything that has wheat in it. It has been adjustment and sometimes I cheat but then I pay for it later. I would have never made it through all the hospital trips without my mom & my best friend savannah . Anywho that’s a little about me 🙂
